The LEGO The Hobbit theme now has two more polybag sets to call its own. The two new sets are Legolas Greenleaf 30215 (pictured above) and Lake-town Guard 30216 (pictured below). While both sets are expected to be avilable in January, the Lake-town Guard polybag has already been sighted at Toys R Us.
LEGO is celebrating the release of its first boardgame based on the new The Hobbit license by hosting a contest. Starting October 8th, fans will have an opportunity to roll a virtual dice,on LEGO Games Facebook page, entering them into a contest to win a variety of prices including a grand prize package. The Hobbit LEGO theme will soon bring us the iconic Bag End set and there appears to be even more in store for fans of one of Tolkien’s legendary works with the announcement of The Hobbit: The Unexpected Journey board game. Taking the form of a memory game, The Hobbit LEGO board game is designed to be played by two to four players and features 364 pieces that come together to form setting fit for the world of The Hobbit. The board game is due out in September, months before the release of The Hobbit LEGO theme in December.
The upcoming The Hobbit LEGO theme just got more exciting with the debut of the Bag End set at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con. Coming fresh off the heels of a previous announcement that unveiled The Hobbit minifigures, Bag End showcases the tremendous potential the theme may have. Bag End, along with the rest of the LEGO The Hobbit theme, will be released on the 1st of December, followed by the The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey movie, which comes out on the 14th.
Gandalf, Dwalin, Bombur, Bofur, Bilbo and Balin. Six of the LEGO Minifigures that are set to take center stage in the upcoming LEGO The Hobbit theme. Based on The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey movie, the LEGO The Hobbit theme will be released December 1st, followed by the movie on December 14th. Despite Comic-Con not starting till the 12th of July in San Diego, California, the minifigures are already one of the biggest announcements to come out of the convention.

The 2012 London Toy Fair has brought us a preview of the new LEGO The Lord of the Rings minifigures. The image showcases Frodo Baggins, Samwise ‘Sam’ Gamgee, Peregrin ‘Pippin’ Took, Meriadoc ‘Merry’ Brandybuck, Aragorn, Boromir, Legolas Greenleaf, Gimli and Gandalf the Grey. The figures will be out later this year with release of the the new LEGO The Lord of the Rings theme and The Hobbit movie.
