3D Artist and Motion designer JR Schmidt has created a vivid 3D illustration focused on Manhattan and some of the Outer Boroughs of New York City. Entitled LEGO New York, the work is based on maps and satellite imagery of The Big Apple with the shades of the bricks representing changes in elevation.The design is available on prints, cards and canvasses as well as on iPhone and iPod skins and cases. They are available for purchase from the artist, starting at $12.
To celebrate the opening of 10 new stores in North America this year, LEGO plans to make available the 3300003 LEGO Brand Retail Store during grand opening celebrations for each store. A limited number of shoppers will have the opportunity to get the set by making a qualifying purchase during each store’s grand opening celebration. Cities in North America which will see LEGO stores open this year include: Nashville, TN; Victor, NY; Vancouer, BC, Wauwatosa, WI: The Woodlands, TX; Peabody, MA; Overland Park, KS; Elizabeth, NJ; Seattle [Lynnwood], WA and Alpharetta, GA.

Ever felt like your Dollhouse was not Eco-friendly enough? New York based outfit brinca dada may have the solution with their line of dollhouses and related accessories. Some of their dollhouses, (such as the emerson pictured above), have lights powered by solar panels. It addition many of dollhouses are made of eco-friendly wood’s such as bamboo and painted with non-toxic lead free paints. LEGO will be showcasing its brand new lineup of Marvel’s The Avengers sets at Toy Fair 2012 in New York, being held from the 12th of February till the 15th.
